Party Season Beauty Essentials

If you're getting dressed up this party season, whether that's to a Christmas party, you might be dressing up on Christmas day or off out on New Years Eve for celebrations, I have got you covered on some of the beauty essentials that might be able to help you put together a party season look that is perfect for your celebrations!

Think sparkles, red lips and glamorous eyes...

Eye shadows & Eye pencils

Eye pencils & fake lashes

EYES:
When it comes to eye make up, there is literally so much you can do to create different looks for whatever type of celebration you're going to. For Christmas or New Years, I think a shimmery smokey eye is perfect for the festive season. In the Sleek: Vintage Romance palette shown above, it includes a mixture of different shimmery eye shadows to choose from to create that perfect smokey eye. For instance you could go for a golden themed eye look consisting of the three gold shades along the top row of the palette and then use the matte brown in the top right corner of the palette through the crease of your eye. If you want to go for something more dramatic then opt for the blue shades or purples!

To add more to your eye look, you can run an eye liner across your top lash line, bottom lash line or your waterline to create more definition to the eyes, as well as enhancing the smokey effect. The three Urban Decay: Glide-on Eye Pencil in Sabbath, Perversion and Smoke can be used to achieve this. Also to create more drama to your eyes, you could add some false eyelashes to enhance your eye look. Adding some false lashes to your look is perfect for the party season! There's many to choose from, whether you're after a bold and dramatic look to complete your eye look or want to go with more natural lashes to continue with a more elegant theme.

Eyelash curles, lip gloss & highlighter

HIGH LIGHT:
A high pigmentation and shimmery highlight is just right for the party season! I would highly recommend Mary-Lou by theBalm to achieve this. It's one that I have mentioned on my blog a couple of times and has been hyped about so much in the beauty word, that we're all probably tired of hearing it, but it really is just such a good product. It has amazing pigmentation and it is such a stunning golden champagne colour! Apply Mary-Lou across your cheek bones, on your brow bones, down your nose and on your cupids bow.

Lip gloss & lip stick

LIPS:
Depending on whether you want to go for a more elegant look or a dramatic glamour look, you may decide to opt for one of these two products. The first is a lip gloss, that will be perfect for adding a slight pop of colour and gloss to your lip to overall enhance the elegant look you are going for. This one is from Rimmel's 'Oh My Gloss!' range in the shade 'Stay My Rose'. It's the perfect rosy pink colour that will help to enhance your natural lip colour without changing it too much and turning it into more of a dramatic look.

On the other hand, you might decide you want to go for a bold lip! Reds and berry colours are great for this season. A classic red just screams Christmas. This affordable Rimmel: Kate Moss: 01 lipstick can help to create that red lip you are after. Also berry's can work just as well to fit in with the winter season, if you're don't fancy braving a red!

Glitter Nails

GLITTER NAILS:
There's no better time throughout the year than to add some glitter to your nails than Christmas and New Years! These Model's Own varnishes are my go to this time of the year. The blue, purple and turqiouse themed varnish also known as 'Disco Mix' can be great for going all out this party season. Or if you prefer something more relaxed (if that's even possible with glitter? haha!) and girly then Pink Fizz would be a great choice!

Perfume & Instant Tan

 FINISHING TOUCHES:
Once you've applied all your make-up and painted your nails, before you decided to slip on your outfit, you might decide you want to add a touch of bronze or a light tan to any areas that might be on the pale side this winter season due to the lack of sunshine. An instant tan that washes off the next time you shower could be great for adding some colour to your skin when you're off out celebrating! This one from Rimmel London: Sun Shimmer: Instant Tan: Medium Matte is easy to apply and comes off with ease the next time you shower!

Before you leave the house and to add that final touch, a spritz of your favourite perfume or fragrance for this time of the year can mean your ready to go. As mentioned in my November Favourites, Alien Perfume is the perfect scent for this time of the year. It's musky and classy, which is perfect for the party season, not only winter time.

What are you go to beauty essentials this party season? What is your make-up look going to consist of if you're off partying in the next few weeks?
