NYX Haul and First Impressions
The greatest thing ever happened a couple of weekends ago, my local boots store finally got a NYX stand!!! I was so excited when I found out that we were getting one and I made sure that I got there early the day it was launching to have one long browse of the new stand. I could have spent so much since there was so many things to chose from, but I managed to restrict myself to four items. Although since then I have been back and got more woops. But here's a haul of what I got and a few first impressions.

SETTING SPRAY - DEWY FINISH/LONG LASTING £7.00

I've seen a lot of setting sprays floating around the beauty world at the moment, particularly the Urban Decay one, but due to my money restriction, I wanted to look for a cheaper alternative. I absolutely love a dewy finish to my make-up, you'll hardly ever see me opt for matte products, so it was no doubt that I went for the dewy finish out of the two setting sprays NYX offer. For £7.00 it is super affordable compared to the likes of the Urban Decay, you could buy three of the NYX ones for the price of the Urban Decay one. What a bargain!

My first impressions of this spray was that the smell of it wasn't too potent. It doesn't have the best smell, but it's not bad either, so that seemed fine to me. In terms of spraying, I tend to spray this two or three times onto my face. Even then it doesn't feel wet on the face, which I was a bit cautious about because I didn't want it to literally be dripping off my face. That wouldn't have been a good look. Over the course of the day, I would say it gave me a slight dewiness, mainly across my forehead, but nothing that was major and looked completely noticeable. I was a little disappointed by this because I had such high hopes for it being a great product. But one good thing I do really love is that it does keep my make-up on a little while longer than usual. I guess you get what you pay for in this instance. Maybe I will have to resort to the Urban Decay one.

HD CONCEALER WAND CW01 - PORCELAIN - £5.50

I was beginning to run out of concealer and I've been on the hunt for the longest time for my perfect concealer, so I was looking forward to trying out the HD Concealer from NYX. I decided to pick up the lightest shade, so I could really help to brighten my under eye area and add a touch of highlight too. Another great affordable product! This concealer has my favourite wand applicator, which makes applying the product so much easier than other applicators I've used before.

As soon as I applied this product, I noticed it was quite a creamy yet still a light texture on the skin. Before I even had the chance to blend this product, I could already see that it was super brightening and I was so excited to blend it into my skin to light my dark circles. Of course, it doesn't completely illuminate dark circles, but it really does lighten up any dull areas once blended. It was really easy to blend with a brush or beauty blender. Both tools work great with this concealer. Over the duration of the day, it did slightly crease, but nothing that was too out of the way and couldn't be quickly fixed. I'd say this concealer lasted for around 6-8 hours before I noticed it had started to fade, which in my opinion is quite good!!!

I'll definitely be repurchasing this again. I'm very impressed and would highly recommend it.

I've seen so much hype around these lip creams and now that I own a couple, I can totally see why they are so hyped about. They're the perfect liquid lipstick and so affordable. They're such a wide range of colour selection. You're so spoilt for choice. But in the end, I decided on going for a gorgeous bright berry pink shade named 'Prague'. A shade that look's great worn both day and night. Although I think this would probably wash fairer skin tones out a little because of how bright it is, but this would look amazing on warmer and darker skin tones.

Out of all the products I picked up, this was the one product I was most impressed with and the whole reason I went back to pick up more. The pigmentation of this lip cream is amazing. It is so pigmented and requires little or no effort to build up the colour on your lips. Unlike most liquid lipsticks I've tried, they feel creamy on the lips and not at all drying. Even when they dry, they don't feel dry nor sticky, which is what you really want to end up with when you wear liquid lipsticks. It's very rare you find a matte product that isn't drying, so I'm very pleased with these. The wear of these is also really great. This one in particular lasted around 6-7 hours on me, without any touch ups and I had been drinking/eating in between this time.

If you're on the hunt for a liquid lipstick that's great quality and affordable, NYX is the place to go!

BUTTER GLOSS - VANILLA CREAM PIE - £5.00

With the Spring already here and Summer just around the corner, I really wanted to expand my colour choices for this time of the year, as well as the formulas/finishes of my lip products. Lip glosses are normally more associated with the warmer months, so I thought I would try one of the butter glosses from NYX's range. The shade I went for is known as 'Vanilla Cream Pie', which I wouldn't normally associate that sort of name with the colour. I would have probably imagined it be more of a nude as opposed to a bright barbie pink colour.

This butter gloss is super glossy!! The smell is also amazing and one of the first things I noticed. They smell very sweet and lovely. The pigmentation of these is fairly average. I would say you need to build it up a lot to avoid any transparency with this gloss, but most glosses are like this, so I didn't expect much less. Again, like most glosses, it wasn't very long lasting. But I love the colour and the feel of this butter gloss. It's very nourishing and doesn't feel sticky at all. I definitely prefer the soft matte lip creams though.

Have you tried anything from NYX? What products are your favourites? If not, what would you like to try?
