A Berry Lip Combination

08:00

We all know that a staple lip for this time of the year is a berry lip! It's literally everywhere at the moment, with so many drugstore and highend brands showcasing this shade throughout their lip ranges, it can become hard to figure out which one to chose. I have a few berry tones within my makeup collection myself, but one that I absolutely love is Mac's Diva. I got it last Christmas and wore it so much over the end of the festive period, as well as throughout January and February. Now autumn's soon progressing and we're approaching winter, I've been getting so much wear out of it again that I just had to share it with you.

I've talked about Diva before on my blog. But if you haven't come across this shade before or want a little more information on it, then keep on reading. Diva sways more to the deeper side of the reds. It's quite dark, but not too dark that is washes you out. It's a matte formula, so it doesn't appear shiny or glossy on the lips. But this doesn't mean it's drying. Mac's matte range is one of the best matte lipstick ranges I've come across. They're very cream on the lips and once dried they don't feel flakey or chapped. The pigmentation and staying power is also seriously good. It definitely lives up to the Mac standard. It retails at £15.50 which in my opinion for a high end lipstick is fairy good going, especially with the high quality it products. Although my only slight criticism with this lipstick is that it is quite prone to smudging, which is where the next product comes in and makes this berry lip a combo.

I'd been on the hunt for a lip liner to go with this shade for quite a while. Again there's loads out there to chose from. In the end, I decided to go with one from NYX's mechanical range in the shade 'Dark Red'. These are sooo affordable yet great quality. They retail at only £5.50 which is such a budget friendly buy. They apply so easily onto the lips, it really does make lining and filling in your lips so easy to do. They glide on so effortlessly, giving a really precise line and feel so creamy on the lips. Also what I really love is that you don't need to sharpen this product due to it being twist up, which makes the usage especially on the go so handy. They also last a really long time too, which is what you want when you have your lipstick lasting a long time too. Plus the pigmentation is crazy good and it's the perfect colour match to Diva.

Overall, this is one of my favourite lip combinations right now and the berry lip I always reach for!

What's your go to berry lip combination? Have you tried either of these?
