Quick & Easy Braid Hairstyle

I thought I would do something a little different and do a hair tutorial today. Just a disclaimer here, I am nowhere means an expert at styling hair. To be honest, I'm quite bad at it and that probably shows from these photos. However this is a hair style I tend to lean toward's when I want to do something a little different to my hair and give it an extra bit of detail all whilst still making it quick and easy to do. This style features exactly that. Two braids created with two small front sections, pulled away from the face and tied back to create this simple yet boho inspired themed look.
First thing you are going to want to do is brush through your hair. It's important you do this to get rid of any knots, otherwise you will struggle to braid the hair later on. Next you are going to want to part your hair however you like or how you usually wear it. I tend to have mine just off the centre. Once you have done that, you are going to want to take a small section from one side of your head. This section can be however thick you want, it will all depend on how thick you wish your braids to be on your hair. I have chosen a fairly average sized section for mine. This will then create an average sized braid on my hair, which you can make thicker towards the end.
Now that you have your front section, you are going to want to split that section up into three pieces that are all roughly the same size. This will make it so much easier to braid and create a perfect looking three strand braid. Once you have got your three pieces, start braiding all the way down the strand. Remember to braid away from your face and in the direction of the back of your head. This will help to ensure that you experience no problems when tying your braids back at the end of the look and you will avoid having any bumps within the start of the braid close to the scalp. Once you're done with the braid, secure an elastic around the bottom or clip it away from your face.
Next you need to move onto the other side of your hair. This part is super easy. All you have to do is repeat the same steps from before. Take roughly the same size of hair from the front section as you did with the other side. This is essential to creating a matching braids either side of your face and avoid any size difference between the two. Now that you have got your section, just like before, split it up into three and braid away from your face. Once complete, secure with an elastic or clip.
Now that you have your two braids, you are going to want to remove them from the clip, elastic or whatever you have used to secure the ends. Next pull the two braids from the front of your face, round to the back of your head and position them roughly in the centre of your head. Use a mirror or get someone to check for you to see whether you are hitting the centre. Once you have found the centre, make sure that there are no lose hairs sneaking through where the two braids meet. If not, this will cause stray hairs to get caught in the tie and it won't look very neat. Now you can join the braids together with a clear elastic or tie of you choice!
Tip: If you want to add a touch of volume to this look, push the top section above the braids upwards to create a little bit of volume. This will also add into the whole bohemian vibe this look creates.
Alternatively, you could also curl or straighten the rest of your hair to add a little something extra to your look depending on what your natural hair is like. As you can see, I've added some lose waves to mine.
There you have it! A quick and easy braid hairstyle, that takes little time to do and can be adapted to however you want it to be. I believe this hairstyle is great for adding that little something extra to your natural hair. It might be a new style you opt for to change up your everyday look or something you try to do when off on a night out. Also this would look great during the spring/summer months, when you want your hair off your face to feel a little cooler when it's warm. A spring/summer wedding would be perfect for this look. Plus it plays into the bohemian vibe that's always really popular during the summer months around festival season.

I hope you enjoyed this mini hair tutorial. As I said I'm not the best when it comes to hair, but this is a hair style that is really easy to do and takes no time at all. If you try this, please let me know, I'd love to see your recreations.
What are your thoughts on this look? What's do you like to do to your hair when you want something a little different?
