What Does Blogging Success Look Like To You?
10:15
We all strive for success when it comes to blogging. Whether that's to inspire, create, develop and improve, we all have our own goals when it comes to blogging and want to make it the best it can possibly be, right? Everyone will have a different opinion on how they will define success and what it includes. But what does it look like to you? How do you know when you or another blogger is successful? Do we use these people to push us to grow our blogs? Do we view some more successful than others depending on what we deem as successful? What does blogging success look like to you?
Blogging success can be measured in a number of ways and at least one area will contribute to our overall definition on what we see as a success. This could be from the amount of views, the number of people following, the readership, how many awards someone has won or been nominated for with regards to their blog, any income that blogging provides them with, the amount of shares they get on each post, the collaborations they do with either brands or others in their field and the number of comments they receive.
Most of us strive for more. Most of us always want to reach a destination that we envision working hard towards and once we get there, we know that we've hit that end goal and have finally been able to reach that much desired success. But why does it always have to be more? Why do we always see success as a long term goal? Why can't it be something we've already hit without releasing?
Of course, I understand that pushing yourself more is a great way to stay motivated and keep your passion for something burning bright. Once you've achieved something and celebrated the success, you're already then thinking of your next goal and how you can work towards it. I see blogging this way sometimes. I see the end goal insight, with small goals in between and ways of working towards it already planned out in my mind of how I am going to get there.
But what exactly are these goals and why do I see them as a point of success?
What I always try to stick by when I am wondering where my blog is heading, is that blogging success to me isn't defined by the stats I get on each post, the following I have on social media, any collaborations I am lucky enough to be apart of or that I basically blog for free. Yes all of these things are great and I am so appreciative of hitting some of these milestones, like when you log on and see your latest post received the most views you've ever had or that a brand has got in touch with you to work on a post. All of these things are massive perks to the hobby that I absolutely love, but when I think about success and my blog, there are other things that out weigh these areas a lot more!
For me, blogging success is being consistent with my posting and keeping to my schedule, producing quality content that I am happy with and couldn't be prouder of, it's receiving comments or messages saying that people liked my post or blog, it's about building a community of readers who keep coming back, whether that's because they enjoy my posts or because they found a place of support.
If I can achieve anything remotely close to that, then I feel I have achieved blogging success.
