I'm all for affordable make-up and shopping for great quality pieces when you're on a budget. Most of my make-up collection is made up of drug store make-up and a small segment of that is made up of budget friendly highlighters. I absolutely love highlighters, so why not do a post showcasing some of my favourite budget highlighters that you might want to invest in also if you haven't already.
As mentioned before, I'm not a massive fan of how eye shadow look's on me and I'm not all that great at applying it either haha. But for everyday wear, I like to create a really wearable natural eye look that helps to make my eye's pop whilst still looking pretty. Today I'm going to share with you my go to everyday eye look, including the products I use and the reasons why I choose to wear them.
After doing my base make-up and filing in my eyebrows, I like to then move onto my eyes. The first product I tend to reach for is my Naked Basics palette by Urban Decay. This palette is amazing for everyday wear and for creating a natural eye look. This product help's to fit my requirements perfectly. First I like to apply a dusting of either W.O.S or Foxy from the palette over my entire lid to brighten up my eyes. Foxy is the shade I tend to stem to more for when I really want to brighten my eyes, maybe for those days when my eyes are looking a bit dark and tired. Although W.O.S is a great match for my skin tone. These are both matte finishes too. I then like to brighten my eyes more and help to make them 'pop'. To do this, I take Venus from the same palette, which is a neutral shimmery shade and I apply that to the inner corners of my eyes. I love the look it creates and it makes such a difference to my overall look. I hate not having a pop of shimmer to highlight my eyes!
Sometimes to add an extra little bit of something to my eyes, I like to apply a slight shimmer over the eyelids. This eye shadow from Kiko in the shade 118 Pearly Beige Silk is perfect for doing just that. It's so subtle that it doesn't appear overpowering or look like you have just sprinkled glitter over your lid haha. But it just helps to give a nice hint of something else to a neutral eye. Plus it has a neutral colour to it, so it doesn't add any forms of colour and keeps it looking as natural as possible.
To finish off my eyes, I take my eyelash curlers from Dirty Works to add curl to my lashes before I move onto mascara. The mascara I am currently using and loving is the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. This mascara is amazing and does exactly what you want it do. It really lengthens your lashes by the use of the wand, which helps you to get from root to tip with ease. Also it creates volume, separates the eyelashes to create that feathery look, adds that extra bit of curl and it lasts all day long. Maybelline always do some of the best mascara's in my opinion and for great prices too!
What's your go to eye look? Have you used any of these products?
Essence is one of the brands you don't hear too much about unlike other affordable brands like Rimmel. Essence is a brand that hasn't been around for many years in the UK and has been more popular in other parts of Europe and the U.S. I saw these lip liners floating around the beauty world the past couple of months and was amazed when I found out the price of them. Surely for a product that's only £1 your instant thought is 'This cannot be true. They can't be very good quality for a price like that'. After reading good comments about these lip liners, I flocked to my local Wilko's to check out these lip liners for myself.
So far, I haven't been disappointed with the quality of these products. The formula of these liners are creamy and are so easy to glide onto the lips. The point doesn't feel sharp or hard. It has more a softer feel to it and it helps to make the application easier. Also they do not feel drying on the lips which some liners do. However you could quite easily apply this product all over your lips to maintain your lipstick for longer. They feel like they're strong and would not break easily, so you don't need to worry about them snapping or anything breaking off when you're in a hurry. All together there are 7 lip liners from this range, that are all easy to wear everyday colours. I picked up the shades '06 Satin Mauve' and '12 Wish Me A Rose'.
Satin Mauve is probably my favourite of the two. It's a gorgeous pinky rosy nude colour and goes perfectly with Mac - Brave lipstick. The swatch appears quite dark but on the lips it's the perfect rosy colour. This lip liner shade really helps to enhance your natural lips and create the illusion of fuller lips. The other shade Wish Me A Rose is a bright pastel pink colour that would work great for creating the perfect spring/summer lip. Again another great shade in enhancing a similar lip colour and making your lips look fuller.
Satin Mauve with Brave (Mac)
In terms of staying power, for an affordable lip liner like these from Essence they don't last too long, but they do last longer than what you would expect from a cheap product. Yet you can't really complain, because for £1 I think these lip liners are a great little investment to help create different everyday lip colours and you can save some money whilst doing so!
What are your thoughts on cheap brands? Have you tried these liners or anything from Essence?
This stunning Rose Gold Blush by Sleek has been one of my go to blushes for so long. It's the perfect shade for fair skin tones. It's a stunning pinky coral colour with hints of gold shimmer running through it. Also it contains no glitter, so you don't have to worry about looking like a disco ball. It's the perfect blush for the spring/summer time. But one that I find is so easy to wear all year round. Rose Gold is highly pigmented and long lasting. It is also super easy to blend and has a soft texture to it. This blush isn't too overpowering and doesn't look too harsh on the skin. Some have even compared this to the Nars Orgasm, which I am yet to try but I can see the similarities. Could this be a possible dupe?
Even though this blush only contains 8g, I have found that I don't run out of this blush very quickly even when I tend to use this daily. This blush lasted over a year since the purchase date, before I began to hit pan and that's where I found the most problems with this blush. As it get's older, it is expected that things to wear and tear. As I hit pan more and more with this product, I found that it crumbled easily and I would end up wasting half the product that I had left. Also the packaging broke when I started to run out which meant it was time for a new one. However, for the affordability of this product, the price being only at £4.99, you can't really complain about this slight problem after such a long usage!
Have you tried this blush? What are your thoughts?

Real Techniques are one of those great brands that delivers high quality, affordable and great performance brushes. They're perfect for beginners, as well as those who are already way into deep with their love of make-up. When I first began to love make-up a few years back, Real Techniques brushes were the first brushes that I invested in to apply my make-up with. Today I thought I would share with you a few of the brushes that I own from the Real Techniques range and what I use each one for.
The first ever brush set I bought from this brand was the Core Collection. I believe this is a great starter kit for anyone getting into make-up or someone who needs some affordable brushes that they will use daily. It contains four bronze coloured brushes, which are mainly used for the base of your make-up. The first one is the Buffing brush. This brush I mainly use to apply liquid foundation to my face. It is really easy to use and blends easily due to the style of the brush. Also it doesn't leave your foundation looking cakey on your skin because of this reason. The soft bristles on this brush work great in applying the product onto the skin without missing any areas.
The next one is the Contour brush! This brush is pretty self explanatory due to the name. It works great for contour. The shape of this brush really help's to get into the hollows of your cheek bones. Also the size of this brush is great because it means that you're not creating a too big or too small of a line. It's the perfect size. Also I use this brush to apply my highlighter onto the tops of my cheek bones. It works just as well as when you're contouring. A great multi use brush!
Moving onto the next two brushes in the set, the Pointed Foundation brush and the Detailer. These are probably the two that I use the least out of all my brushes. But still ones that you can use and get some use out of. The Pointed Foundation brush I find is way too small for applying my foundation. Instead I like to use this for blending in my concealer, particularly under the eye and on any blemishes. The point really helps to touch those areas that might be hard to reach with larger brushes. You could also use this brush for any foundation touch ups or if you were to use a liquid highlighter and needed a brush with more precision to work the product into the skin.
The Detailer is a handy little brush. I like to use it for any extra touch ups and for adding details to a look. I tend to use it more for clearing up any mistakes or to avoid mistakes. For example, if you dab the bush on whatever colour lipstick you have chosen and then outline your lips with the product, you can quite easily use this brush to work in the same way as a lip liner would. Also another great use of this brush would be for when applying a light shimmer eye shadow into the inner corner of the eyes. The size of the brush and the shape work well in in this particular area.
Now I'm on the topic of eye-shadow, I should mention the next brush in my collection. This brush happens to be the only eye brush that I actually own from Real Techniques. The reason behind this is because I'm not a massive fan of eye make-up looks. Personally I don't think they suit me very much and I don't have the eyelids to pull off any eye looks. But I do like to apply a neutral colour to my lid for everyday wear and this is where this brush comes in. This is the Shading brush. As mentioned, I use this brush to apply an everyday wearable colour, which is just a little bit lighter than my actual skin tone. The Shading brush works with ease. When I do tend to steer more towards a smokey eye, this brush is great for blending in any eye shadow and the size of the brush is the perfect size for applying a good amount of shadow. Also this brush is great at creating that perfect shadow through the crease. Due to the size though, I would not recommend using this for any concealer application. I feel like it is too small to do this task.
The last two brushes of my collection are personally two of my favourites and both of them are great for the finishing touches of your make-up looks. The first one is the Blush brush. This brush is a great multi-use tool. You can use it to apply your blush, your bronzer, powder or your highlight. I tend to stick to using this brush to apply my blush. It's quite a large size, but I think it works well in the sense that you don't have to keep using a lot of product with this brush. It helps to cover a large area of your face, without you having to keep applying product and then moving it onto any areas that a smaller brush might have missed. Also I find this brush to be the softest of them all!
Finally, the latest brush in my collection is the Sculpting brush. I got this one for Christmas since I had been wanting a new brush for ages. I now use this for contouring. It work's so well in achieving the perfect precise line of bronzer to blend into the hollows of your cheeks. Also it is great for contouring around the nose. The shape easily fits into those more problematic areas that are sometimes hard to blend into.

I haven't done a wishlist in quite a long time and I have never done a Beauty one before. So today I thought I would share with you some of the beauty products that are currently on my wishlist. Most of these are very well known and talked about products, that I really want to try out for myself and see what the hype is about. But everyone loves a good wishlist, don't they?
After my recent post about the Seventeen - Stay Time Concealer, I had a few people mention the Urban Decay concealer to me. I now want to try this for myself. I'm always on the hunt for a new concealer. Hopefully if I ever get the chance to try it, then hopefully it will create great results.
I'm a lover of pinky-nude blushes. This one from Nars has been on my wishlist for such a long time. It's such a pretty colour and I think it will suit my skin tone really well.
I have been wanting this lip pencil from Mac ever since I purchased the lipstick Brave. I think the two products will be a great duo to create that 'Kylie Jenner lip'. Plus I have never tried a Mac lip liner before, but I have heard many great things, such as the non-drying texture and how long they last.
First off I love the packaging of these lipsticks. They're so girly and glam! I love them. Chihauhau is such a pretty nude shade, which is very similar to Mac's velvet teddy. I really want to try these to see if they live up to the hype.
Another very talked about product, but with mixed reviews. I never jumped on the bandwagon when this first came out. However recently, I have been wanting to try it more and more. The mascara I'm currently using now is beginning to dry out. The Rollerlash might be the next one of my list to purchase!
I need these brushes in my life. They look so stunning. I'm a massive fan of rose gold. I've read really great things about these brushes. Plus for the price, the quality, performance and how many you get in a set, I believe they're so worth it. Definitely a top product on my wishlist!
As you can probably tell now, most of these products in this wishlist are very hyped and talked about products. Another one is the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation. I've never owned a high end foundation. Shocker I know! But I think this one from Estee Lauder would be one of the first ones I go for.
